Building Ovens. Building Futures.

What We Do

Ovens of Hope empowers South Sudanese refugee women in Uganda by building mud and brick ovens and training women to bake and sell goods in local markets. We teach essential business skills and provide mentorship, helping women become entrepreneurs while growing in faith through a Christ-centered disciple-making movement.

  • Disciple

We nurture women disciple leaders within these communities— who will serve as Christ-led leaders and minister to other women within the settlements.

  • Build

We build mud and brick ovens in refugee settlements, empowering women to bake and sell goods in local markets to generate income and support their families.

  • Teach

We teach women baking, financial management, mentoring, and entrepreneurship skills, providing them the tools to run successful businesses.

  • Thrive

We empower women to thrive, rather than survive, through the transformative power of Jesus Christ by strengthening their faith in God's provision and guidance.

Enduring Hardships & Rebuilding Lives In Uganda

The majority of refugees in Uganda are from South Sudan and have fled violence, food insecurity, and the breakdown of essential services in their home countries. Now, they face new hardships in refugee camps with limited access to economic opportunities, leaving them vulnerable to poverty and exploitation.

Hope Begins in Pagirinya

Fleeing war and loss, South Sudanese refugee women arrive in Pagirinya Settlement, Uganda, carrying the weight of survival on their shoulders. Among them is Scovia, our partner in Uganda, who once walked this same path—forced to leave her home, yet determined to rebuild.

Now, in partnership with Scovia and her husband of Yenet Ministries in Uganda, we embark on our journey in Pagirinya, laying the foundation for lasting change. These ovens are lifelines, allowing women to bake, sell, and build a future of dignity. They will help sustain their families and uplift their communities through faith and entrepreneurship.

The need is urgent. Will you help ignite hope where it’s needed most?

Building Hope, One Oven at a Time

We are launching a pilot project—starting with one oven to empower refugee women in Uganda to bake, sell, and build a sustainable future. This first oven will provide jobs, financial independence, and a path forward. Once we refine the model, we will scale and build more ovens across other settlements to impact even more lives.

Ignite the First Spark of Hope

Your support launches our pilot project—the first oven—creating jobs, providing training and supplies, and laying the foundation for a model that can grow and transform more lives.
